Universal Orlando is opening a huge new ‘Epic Universe’ theme park that ‘nearly doubles’ the size of the Florida resort
UNIVERSAL Orlando have announced they are opening a brand new theme park called Universal's Epic Universe.
The new theme park will be the fourth one to join the popular resort.
There are currently three theme parks in Orlando - Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal's Volcano Bay.
The new park will be the "most immersive and innovative" theme park of their Floriday offering yet, according to Tom Williams, Chairman and CEO for Universal Parks & Resorts.
Guests will be taken on a journey where "beloved stories expand into vibrant lands".
It will nearly double the size of the current destination, measuring 750 acres, and will be located just a few miles from the existing resort in Southwest Orange Country.
Included in the theme park will be an entertainment centre as well as hotels, shops and restaurants.
Adding to the current 25,000 employees, another 14,000 people will be hired for the new theme park.
Brian Roberts, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Corporation added: "Our new park represents the single-largest investment Comcast NBC Universal has made in its theme park business and in Florida overall."
More details on the new attraction and the opening date are yet to be announced.
