Short-haul destinations that are cheaper this year than last – and the deals to get you there
EXPERTS at Skyscanner have revealed the short-haul destinations that have seen a significant drop in average flight and hotel prices for 2019.
Kalamata in Greece leads the way with the biggest price decrease - followed by Alicante in the Costa Blanca.
The data was based on average flight and four star hotel costs for June 21 to September 22, which were booked between January 1 and May 12.
By comparing prices for holidays booked last year and this year, found that Kalamata is now 36 per cheaper.
Next on the list is Alicante, which is 21 per cent cheaper.
Prices for Valencia, Valetta, Bergen, Faro and Zadar have all fallen by 18 per cent.

5. Valencia, Spain
A great mix of old and new, Valencia has a historical old town with winding streets and interesting architecture.
