UK’s biggest theme park dubbed ‘Britain’s Disneyland’ could include rides based on shows like Thunderbirds

A HUGE theme park dubbed "Britain's Disneyland" is set to open in Kent in 2024.

The new attraction would feature rides based on kids' shows such as Thunderbirds and Robozuna after ITV bosses signed a multi-million pound deal to be part of the project.

A source said: “It’s a really big deal for ITV.

“It’ll be popular kids’ series like Thunderbirds and Robozuna and will be based around those shows.

“The park is going to be absolutely massive. Current plans meant it would be three times larger than any other UK park.”

The ambitious project was previously known as Paramount London until the film giant pulled out in 2017.

Developers have also signed partnerships  with  Aardman Animations,  behind Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit, BBC Worldwide and the British Film Institute.

BBC shows expected to feature at the theme park include Doctor Who, Top Gear and Sherlock.

More than 30,000 jobs could be created and  billions made  for the economy.

ITV Studios executive vice president Steve Green said: “We are thrilled to be on board with this world class project which will offer fans a whole new way to experience our brand.”

This isn't the only new theme park coming to Britain in the next few years - Yorkshire is also set to get a £37m new theme park.

Sun Online Travel previously revealed the best theme parks in Britain as voted for by TripAdvisor users.
