AS the UK faces the wettest August on record, families planning day trips during their summer holidays may be disappointed when visiting an attraction for the day.

Yet what they may not realise is that it could result in a free theme park ticket.

Some UK theme parks have a little-known rule where you can get free tickets to go back if you visit on a particularly rainy day.

Look out for Bad Weather Guarantee or Rainy Day Guarantee in the small print, which will generally offer visitors a free ticket for another day - although there are normally terms and conditions to accompany this perk.
