How to get Disney World Fast Passes by using the ‘pounding the app’ technique for the busiest rides including Avatar Flights of Passage
Insiders have been using the Disney app to get Fast Passes for the most popular rides in the park
DISNEY World fans know that the best way to get on the most popular rides quickly is to use Fast Passes, which allow you to use a faster queue during a one hour period in the day.
However, the passes themselves can also be difficult to get, especially when it comes to three of the most popular rides - Avatar Flight of Passage, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the Slinky Dog Dash.
Thankfully, there is an easy way to get these Fast Passes through the My Disney Experience app, using a technique known as "pounding the app".
When using the app, guests can book up to three Fast Passes on it by looking at the options for Morning, Afternoon and Evening or at half hour time slots.
While this can be done up to 30 days in advance - or up to 60 days if you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel - the trick is to do it the day before or even on the morning of the day you visit the parks for the most popular rides.
At first, many of the Fast Passes offered are for the smaller rides that are not as high in demand.
However, by "pounding the app", ie to constantly refresh it, while scrolling constantly through the timings, more will pop up.
By scrolling from the very first time slot to the very last time slot constantly, frequent visitors to the parks have been able to find Fast Passes for some of the most sought after rides as the app updates.
For the best results, do it on the day of travel and make sure you're in smaller groups.
Even if it says there are no more passes available for that ride that day, online users still advise trying as they do eventually come up.
While it can take time for it to work, many have said they were successful in getting at least one Fast Pass for the busy rides.
Twitter user Tracey wrote: "A few minutes after 9 and Slinky Dog line was out to Star Wars Launch Bay. However, constant refreshing of the app landed me this!"
Someone else said: "I should be doing renewals cause I am at work, but instead I am on the Disney app, playing pound the app and it paid off I got fastpasses for the Mine Train tomorrow!"
On a private Disney Facebook group, one woman was lucky enough to get Fast Passes for the three busiest rides, calling it the "Holy Disney Trinity".
They had to be used on three separate days however, as Disney doesn't allow you to have Fast Passes to different parks on the same day.
Guests who are looking forward to trying the new Star Wars ride opening this year are not yet able to get Fast Pass tickets.
Queues are expected to be as long as six hours due to the popularity of the new attraction.
Another way to skip the longest queues is to head to the rides during lunch hours and parade times.
