A reader wrote in for some advice on booking the perfect family glamping trip that even the most reluctant camper will enjoy.

Q: "My husband hates the idea of camping but some of my best memories growing up were holidays spent under canvas.

A: Camping has moved on from frame tents and separate groundsheets and with the right kit you can now look forward to a fantastic time – and a great night’s sleep.

The cost of a week’s glamping varies – some tents come equipped with everything you could ever imagine and cost more than if you were staying in a 5* hotel.

And there are more affordable operators out there too.

They’re peace of mind for lots of parents who may be worried about night-time or early morning trips to the loo.

The glamping tents at the Club’s Scarborough site are perfect for a trip to the seaside and there’s even an on-site fish and chip shop.

Prices for a week in August start from £688 and each tent can sleep up to six.
