DISNEY have confirmed the opening dates of its Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park.
The highly-anticipated addition to Disneyland California will open ahead of schedule on May 31, with Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida going into hyperspace at the later date of August 29.
While the park is opening much earlier than expected, it means that the attractions will come in two different phases.
On opening day, wannabe bounty hunters will be able to control the most iconic ship in cinematic history aboard Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run - a fully interactive flight simulation ride that puts you in control.
Your team's performance on the ride will follow you around the streets of the park - return the ship as a mountain of scrap parts and you might find yourself in trouble with nearby Stormtroopers.
However, the second ride - Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - won't open until later this year with Disney yet to commit to a date.
Teasing theme park fans about Galaxy Edge's second phase, Disney described Rise of the Resistance as "the most ambitious, immersive and advanced attraction ever imagined that will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance."
Padawans will be able to purchase a custom-built lightsaber at Savi's Workshop, a 20-minute experience that is limited to 14 people at a time and will teach tourists the ways of the Jedi.
Other retail stalls will sell everything from First Order uniforms, droids, and unique collectables, while food options range is a galaxy away from typical theme park grub with blue and green milk being served.
Star Wars fanatics hoping to be the first to visit the groundbreaking attraction will have to make a no-cost reservation, .
Although full details on how to reserve your visit will be revealed at a later date, Disney have confirmed that guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels during May 31 and June 23 will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge during their stay.
Disney also confirmed that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will stay open to resort hotel guests during their Extra Magic Hours times.
Guests at Disney's Star Wars attraction can already meet their childhood heroes.
At Star Wars Launch Bay in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can have personalised meet and greets with Chewie, Kylo Ren, BB-8 and many more.
