You can get tattooed on a CRUISE ship for free – all while enjoying a river cruise holiday

A competition will let three lucky winners get inked for free by a celebrity tattoo artist

Ink Master winner Steven Tefft will also be available for bookings

TATTOOS and cruising are probably two words you never thought would go together.

But as part of a new cruise itinerary, passengers will have the opportunity to get a tattoo done while on board the ship and could even win a free design from a celebrity tattooist.

It's all part of the Tattoo on U itinerary from U by Uniworld.

Passengers will set sail on with a number of famous celebrity tattoo artists, including Steven Tefft from Ink Master and Reese Hilburn from Tattoo Nightmares Miami.

Other famous names include tattoo couple Bobby and Heather Moss, as well as tattoo expert Paul Gambino.

The river cruise itinerary in Germany features a welcome party with the celebrity artists, a tattoo crawl as an excursion and various tattoo-themed talks on board.

Guests can also have tattoos done on the ship for an additional fee.

What's more, three lucky passengers will be able to win a free tattoo of their choice with any of the artists on board.

Another competition will also give the winner $200 (£152) to spend at a tattoo shop of their choosing back home - all they need to do is to show off their tattoo.

Silent discos, mixology classes, paint and wine classes and even rooftop yoga are also part of the holiday.

The trip starts from £2,499pp for the eight days, setting sale on August 19, and guests are given a goody bag at the end with tattoo after-care products.

The launch of the tattoo cruise also coincides with U's new ship U in Drag, featuring a number of famous drag queens from RuPauls Drag Race.

It isn't the only tattoo parlour at sea - Virgin Voyages' new adults-only cruise ship also features a studio for passengers.

Launching in 2020, guests will be able to choose their designs on board.
