How big is MSC Seaside?

It's really big.

MSC Seaside is the first of MSC Cruise's Seaside class of vessels and is the largest ship ever built by its builder, Italian firm Fincantieri.

It's 323m (1,060ft) long, has 18 decks and can carry 5,119 passengers.

It even has a custom-built multi-story water park on board and the whole vessel has a staggering gross tonnage of 153,516.

That makes it the 14th largest cruise ship in the entire world.

What is the deck plan of the ship like?

The MSC Seaside features all kinds of incredible features across its sprawling deck plan — in addition to its water park.

It boasts a waterfront boardwalk which turns into a glass skywalk at one point, offering access to a string of restaurants and bars on board.

As well as pools across different decks, it has a multi-level glass-walled atrium stretching over four decks inside.

It also features a spa, state-of-the-art gym, theatre, and two full-size bowling alleys.

What is the new Channel 5 documentary about?

The new series Secrets of the Mega Cruise Ship is a 90-minute fly-on-the-wall insight into life below deck for the ship's 1,500 crew members.

It will include behind-the-scenes access to show rehearsals, as well as the many entertainment and dining venues on board.

Antonio Paradiso, Managing Director for MSC Cruises UK and Ireland, said: "It is an honour to have this great opportunity to show the British public another of our beautiful shops and all the onboard features we are famous for, whilst also offering a unique behind-the-scenes look at the goings on of one of the world's most advanced cruise ships.

"There is no better way to demonstrate how fantastic cruising is than to physically show people, and this feature-length documentary provides a great opportunity to do just that."
