Take a culinary journey through the Caribbean like Ainsley Harriott at a Sandals’ resort

AS winter bites, many are in need of some sun, sea and spice – and chirpy chef Ainsley Harriott might just have the answer.

His latest ITV show, Ainsley’s Caribbean Kitchen, sees him island-hopping through the places that have inspired his cooking.

Foodies can have their own Caribbean culinary journey at one of Sandals’ resorts, from Macaroni Pie in Barbados and goat curry in Jamaica, to the chocolate and spices of Grenada.

Ainsley kicked off his food pilgrimage in his parents’ birthplace of Kingston, Jamaica, where he salivated over the fresh ingredients at the busy market.

Guests staying at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica can sample authentic West Indian dishes at Eleanor’s or snack at the Jerk Shack.

Seven nights’ all-inclusive at Sandals South Coast costs from £1,725pp including flights from Gatwick on selected dates in September and October.

Ainsley also paid a visit to Antigua and tried his hand at making cocktails in the island’s black pineapples.

Couples can sip a Pina Colada at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa.
