Disneyland won’t let you in if you’re wearing a costume over the age of 14 – and this is why
Visitors to Disneyland might want to go all out by dressing up as their favourite Disneyland character - but it's not allowed
DRESSING up as a Disney princess for the day and heading to Disneyland is the dream of many.
But what many people don’t realise is that they’ll actually be barred from entering the park if they’re wearing a costume as an adult.
The reason for this is that children may confuse adults dressed in costumes with Disneyland’s staff.
specifically states that adults may be “refused admission or ejected” from the park if they are wearing a costume, which it calls “inappropriate attire”.
It says: “Costumes may not be worn by guests 14 years of age or older.
“Masks may not be worn by guests 14 years of age or older (unless they are for medical purposes).”
There are a few certain specific times that adults can dress up, usually at Halloween or Christmas, but even then there are limits on the costumes that can be worn.
At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, guests are allowed to dress up as whoever they like – but they are not allowed to pose as Disney staff or sign autographs for other visitors.
The website states: “Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
“Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

“Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground (e.g., full-length princess dresses).”
There are some other rules on the dress code that guests will want to stick to, as well.
Any clothes with “obscene language or graphics” are banned, as are tattoos that “could be considered inappropriate”.
The parks can also turn people away for wearing “excessively torn clothing” or garments that “expose excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment”.
Sun Online Travel previously revealed that Barack Obama was once booted out of Disneyland for breaking one very specific rule.
