Well it turns out the best one in the world isn't actually that far from the UK...
Siam Park in Tenerife has beaten all others to be crowned the best water park in the world at the 2018 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards - for the second year in a row.
The booking and reviews site chose the winners based on the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for water parks worldwide, gathered over a year-long period.
Waterbom Bali came second on the list, while last year's number two - Beach Park in Aquiraz, Brazil - came third. Read on to find out more...
1. Siam Park – Tenerife, Spain
Opened by the Princess of Thailand in 2008, Siam Park really is royalty among water parks - it was also No.1 last year in the TripAdvisor awards.
It boasts over 30 breathtaking rides and holds several world records, including the creation of the world’s largest man-made wave.
For fans of the park, a second one is planned for neighbouring Gran Canaria.
2. Waterbom Bali – Kuta, Indonesia
Set in 3.8 hectares of landscaped tropical parks, Waterbom prides itself on being 68 per cent garden.
In between making the most of the lush surroundings and world-class rides, you can sip on a tropical drink at the park’s swim-up bar.

Thrillseekers test their mettle on Asia's steepest slide, but there are also plenty of calmer rides for the faint of heart.
No cheap water park grub here either, the park prides itself on their extensive food options, including hand-made 48hr leavened pizzas and a range of alternatives for the health conscious.
3. Beach Park – Aquiraz, State of Ceara, Brazil
Spread out across a massive 42 acres, Beach Park is the largest water park in Latin America and has something for everyone.
As well as pools, saunas, ecological walks and artificial rapids the park also features a 14 storey water slide the hardened adrenaline addicts.
4. Thermas dos Laranjais – Olimpia, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil
Over 260,000 square metres in size, Thermas dos Laranjais is a 15,000 capacity waterpark with more than 50 attractions.
They also have two artificial beaches and a surf wave machine - after all it’s in Brazil.
5. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park – Orlando, Florida
Typhoon Lagoon, which opened in 1989, is one of the most visited water parks in the world.
Hardly surprising, as the park is home to one of the world's largest outdoor wave pools, where guests can hang ten in a private surf lesson.
6. Aquapark Istralandia – Novigrad, Croatia
With 20 different pools and slides, there is something for everyone at Aquapark Istralandia.
Spread on over 81,000 m2, the waterpark has more than 1.6km of tube slides, with a range of speeds for both adults and children.
7. Wild Wadi Waterpark – Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Located next to the stunning Burj Al Arab hotel, Wild Wadi offers 30 rides and attractions for all the family.
If chilling out is more your thing you can book one of the nine VIP cabanas, complete with premium sun loungers.
8. Makadi Water World – Hurghada, Egypt
Makadi Water World on the Red Sea Riviera has more than 50 different rides for guests to choose from, as well as theme play areas.
One of the highlights for thrillseekers is a 19m free-fall slide - or if you prefer the calmer life, try out their winding lazy river.
9. Eco Parque Arraial d’Ajuda – Porto Seguro, Brazil
Built in 1997, the Eco Parque Arraial d’Ajuda is built next to Porto Seguro's Mucuge beach.
The park features a range of activities for all ages, but thrillseekers love the two high speed "kamikaze" water slides with a drop of 17m in height.

10. WetSide Water Park – Hervey Bay, Australia
Built in 2009, entry to WetSide Water Park is free - although guests who want to try out the FlipSide Board Rider wave machine are charged $6 for four minutes.
