Flight attendants explain why you should never use the toilet before take off

A FLIGHT attendant has revealed why you should never use the toilet before a plane takes off.

Passengers could end up making the flight delayed if they do.

Flight attendant Caroline Mercedes told that toilet breaks spark delays because it slows down the boarding process.

She said: "It's not a wise idea to get up to use the bathroom as soon as you get on the plane or we take off.

"There's always a line of people in the back during boarding that makes the process slower."

Another flight attendant said while it would be okay to use the toilet when you get on, you should never do it during the safety demonstration.

They said: "It's OK to go to the restroom before takeoff. But when you see flight attendants performing a safety demonstration, you should stay seated and wait until the seatbelt sign is off.

"When passengers get up during the safety demonstration, we need to stop, wait, and start from the beginning when everyone is back to their seats."

Another bad time to use the toilet is during the drinks service, according to one flight attendant.

Sid Hogan shared a video on Tiktok explaining how irritating she finds it when passengers stand up while flight attendants are wheeling the drinks trolley down the aisle.

Erika Roth, a former flight attendant who flew with commercial airlines for several years, says there are two moments on a flight that provide the best time to go.

Failing that, the next best moment comes just at the beginning of the drinks service, because most people are so keen for their free booze that they are likely to cross their legs and wait instead of missing out.
