Where is Oman's Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar hotel? What is it like?

Located on the fabled Green Mountain of the imposing Al Hajar Mountains, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort sits 2,000 metres above sea level, surrounded by untamed rocky canyons and mountains.

The hotel houses 115 rooms, suites and villas that are all facilitated with a wealth of modern amenities, spa-like bathrooms, a balcony or terrace and, in the higher-end suites and villas, private temperature-controlled swimming pools.

Dining is comprised of six varied diners, from Arabian grill and home-made Italian favourites to Spanish influenced menus and seafood.

At the hotel, guests can enjoy the glistening infinity pool and extra activities, including  night photography, mountain biking and visits to the prestigious Anantara Spa.

How much does it cost to stay there?

Prices depend on the type of room you go for and the type of board.

But it's around £1,095 per person for bed and breakfast including flights for five nights.

Its also around £2,799 per person for half board including flights for five nights.

What time is Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby on BBC Two ?

The second episode of the second series of Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby is on tonight, March 6, at 9pm on BBC Two.

It goes head-to-head with Shetland on BBC One, 100 Years Younger in 21 Days on ITV, Seven Year Switch on Channel 4 and Wild Britain on Channel 5.
