Coco Prive private island in the Maldives – where Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner holidayed
A one-week stay at Coco Prive private island in the Maldives costs £252,000 - the same price as the average UK house
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have spent the week at the $45,000 (£32,000)-a-night Coco Prive private island in the Maldives.
A one-week stay at this Maldives island, located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, costs £252,000 - the same price as the average UK house.
The incredible 1.4-hectare island, which charges £36,000 a night for up to 10 guests with each extra guest costing £2,000-a-night, reckons it’s the most expensive island in the world.
For that price, holidaymakers get exclusive use of the entire private island, with a dedicated team of 30 staff.
There are also no hidden extras - all meals and snacks that are prepared by a private chef are included in the price, as are beverages like the alcohol from your own cocktail bar.
The property also includes a full spa, with free unlimited treatments by an in-house personal therapist.
For those who want to be a bit more active, a free diving instructor is also on hand, as well as snorkelling trips with the resident marine biologist who will introduce guests to the resident sea turtles and other marine life.
There are also a range of other water sports experiences available, including canoeing, catamaran sailing, paddle boarding and windsurfing.
Other land-based activities on offer include Maldivian cooking classes, sunrise yoga, wine tasting sessions and ‘cinema under the stars’.
A popular choice with celebrities and Hollywood stars, the private island boasts a master residence, as well as five additional villas.
The main property is the Palm Residence, with large living and dining areas, as well as a fully-stocked cocktail bar, wine cellar and a library – in case anyone forgot their holiday book.
There are also indoor and outdoor gyms, as well as a 40-metre pool - one of the largest private pools in the Maldives.
Guests arrive on the island via a private luxury yacht from Male’ International Airport, which is just 25 minutes away by boat.
A spokesperson said: “Our range of tailor-made experiences are what makes your stay with us special.
“Whether you’d like a romantic sunset dinner on the beach organised by your private butler, a sand bank picnic or want to sleep under the stars, we can create this exactly how you’d like it.”
