New details of Pixar Pier and Star Wars hotel attractions coming soon to Disney theme parks
Pixar Pier will be split into four “neighbourhoods” based on favourite Pixar films like Toy Story and The Incredibles
DISNEY are giving fans a double whammy of excitement right now.
They have revealed details about not just one but two of its most exciting upcoming attractions - the Pixar Pier and the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Speaking at the D23 Expo in Japan, chairman Bob Chapek revealed new details of the due to open at its California park on June 23.
The pier will be split into four “neighbourhoods” that revolve around favourite Pixar films.
One neighbourhood will be inspired by The Incredibles, and feature a ride called the Incredicoaster.
On the roller coaster ride, life the Parr family races alongside guests to try and catch baby Jack-Jack.
The second neighbourhood will be all about Toy Story, featuring attraction called Toy Story Mania! And the third neighbourhood is dedicated to Inside Out.
The the fourth zone features a range of Pixar’s other films, from WALL-E to A Bug’s Life, and there will also be a Pixar-themed lounge, looking out over Paradise Bay.
The new park will also get a Pixar Fest – a festival starting on April 13 featuring a new fireworks spectacular with the theme of friendship, ever-present in most Pixar films.
In the show, unlikely Pixar characters will meet for the first time and set out on adventures together.
The story will be projected on different park locations like Sleeping Beauty Castle and the buildings of Main Street, with a special flyover by Buzz Lightyear at Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Star Wars fans are also in for a treat as details have been released from the much-anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge parks – and this time it’s about the hotel there.
In a blog post, Disney revealed that the hotel will “combine luxury with completely immersion into an authentic Star Wars story.
"Guests’ journey through space will start when everyone departs together for a multiday Stars Wars adventure by boarding a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during a voyage through the galaxy.”
At the resort, guests become active citizens of the galaxy - even dressing up in the proper attire.
Every window at the hotel will also have a view out into space - so it will always feel like you;'re on a spaceship.
You’ll also be able to go shopping at the Toydarian Street Market.
