Zombies roam the grounds in Outbreak 1349 and the Castle Dungeon hosts a spooky Seance at this year's bigger-than-ever Haunted Castle event
Madalyn Bielfeld
RAMP up Halloween horror this year with a visit to Warwick Castle - where you will find enormously fun spooky activities right up until October 31.
My three kids and I got the full fright treatment and it was terrific.
Older kids will love the frenetic Outbreak 1349, where ghouls, ghosts and zombies chase you through the depths of the medieval castle.
Rosita, 11, and Heidi, nine, were petrified but loved it, while I had to calm poor Willow, six, whose bravado in the queue disappeared once inside.
Young 'uns may prefer the more sedate and charming interactive tale in the Witches Tower, helping the Princess witch cast a spooky spell. Willow was much happier with that.
An alternative spook is the immersive Séance - and the Castle Dungeon is a must where actors take you through some gory history.
Besides the Halloween fun, my kids loved the Horrible Histories maze, and the falconry displays with their fun commentaries.
We stayed overnight in the magical, medievalthemed Knights' Lodges and dined in their banqueting hall.
