Qatar Airways now has DOUBLE BEDS in Business Class – but they cost from £3.2k
The world's first double beds in business class launched on the London to Doha route
THE world's first double beds in business class will take the passenger experience "to a new level" on flights from London to Doha, an airline has claimed.
Qatar Airways has released a new picture of the sleeping arrangement, where customers in adjoining seats can create their own double bed by removing privacy panels.
The "Qsuites" are available to Business Class passengers on a daily Boeing 777 service from London Heathrow to Doha, with one seat costing from £1,600 - so £,200 for a double.
The carrier's senior vice president for Europe Jonathan Harding described the Qsuite cabins as a "first class product in business class".
Up to four passengers travelling together are also able to transform their seats to form a private area, so families, friends or colleagues can dine, socialise and work in a group.
Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the centre four seats transform the four seats into a private room.
Mr Harding believes that Qsuite offers an "unprecedented level of luxury" with "enormous flexibility".
He said: "It's a revolutionary, brand new, game-changing product which we are going to roll out across our business class fleet, raising the business class experience to a new level."
He continued: "We have the first double bed in the sky, so people travelling together are able to avail themselves of that.
"If you're travelling by yourself you get privacy, particularly in one of our window seats, but our quads can be configured in a way that is very flexible and comfortable."
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, added: “On Qatar Airways, you choose when you dine, you choose when you rest, and when you want entertainment - we offer more choices than any other airline.
“It only makes sense to give you the choice to make your own cabin-within-a-cabin, creating double QSuites or quadrants.”
In addition to the customisable on-board seating experience, Qatar Airways is also launching a new food and beverage concept in addition to their ‘dine on demand’ service.
A new Business Class menu offers snack ‘sharing dishes’ available throughout the flight, allowing travellers to turn dining into a social experience.
