Disney World has come up with a genius WINE slush puppy to help parents get through a day at the theme park

IT’S called the Happiest Place on Earth but every adult who’s visited a Disney theme park with a small child in tow knows it can be anything but.

All it takes is a couple of hours of long queues, screaming kids, obnoxious characters waving in your face and hearing It’s a Small World for the umpteenth time and you are done.

But perhaps a strange new adult-only drink, now available at Disney World in Orlando, will give the grown-ups the pep they need to charge on.

Amorette’s Patisserie - a French-themed patisserie in Disney Springs has boldly gone where no one in the Disney universe has gone before by creating a red wine slushie.

The slushie made with wine and strawberries is called the "Strawberry Shiraz wine slushie".

Since Disney Springs unveiled it on Instagram five days ago, it has attracted more than 8,000 likes and scores of Disney fans have started posting photos of themselves with the drink online.

The patisserie is also selling a mango Muscat slushie, which consists of white wine, mango and ice.

Both drinks can be bought for $8 (£6).

The genius of the wine slushie doesn't just lie in the taste, booze content and the refreshing ice though.

Its deceptive appearance means that a frazzled parent could reasonably expect to stroll through the park with a slush puppy in hand without raising any eyebrows.

Which possibly might not be the case if they decided to walk down Main Street with an actual glass of red wine.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR VERY OWN WINE SLUSHIE

If you can't get out to Orlando's Disney World, then you can always make your very own version of the icy beverage from the comfort of your own kitchen. We've mashed up a few of the best boozy guides on the net to give you a great basic slush recipe:

  1. Add frozen fruit like berries or mango to a blender along with a splash of white or red wine
  2. Blend the fruit until it is smooth
  3. Add the rest of the wine and blend it in
  4. Freeze the contents of the blender for up to six hours
  5. Put the frozen mixture back into the blender and blend it quickly with a dash of wine to help the blitzing process
