The Majorca locations where the Love Island 2017 cast are romancing and boozing this summer
From romantic hot air balloon rides, to being pampered in five star spas... we give you the lowdown on the island's gems
MILLIONS are glued to the antics of the 12 Love Island contestants as they flirt, fight and frolic under the sizzling Majorcan sun.
This year’s lucky lot are in a fabulous villa on the north-east of the island, near the village of Sant Llorenc des Cardassar, 20 minutes from coastal resorts and an hour from the capital Palma.
Here, LISA MINOT catches up with show insiders and local expert Deidre O’Connor, from , to bring you our guide to the island’s most romantic places.
Love is in the air
FOR a spectacular way to get away from the crowds and enjoy some couple time, nothing could be as romantic as a hot-air balloon flight from Manacor.
Sunrise flights see you glide silently above the countryside before enjoying a chilled glass of cava and traditional breakfast at the end of your flight.
From £140 per person. See .
Posh pampering
SEVERAL of the Love Island girls have already had a treat with some serious spa time – but that was only so the boys could meet two new arrivals without them knowing.
It was hardly a chore, though, as they got pampered at the 5* Hotel Lago Garden in Cala Ratjada.
The hotel’s spa is in gorgeous gardens and includes a sauna and Turkish baths, plus aromatic showers, hot-bed pools and an ice fountain.
Rooms at the Moorish-style hotel are from £180 a night. See .
Best bar none
ONE of the stand-out, shocking moments of last year’s Love Island was the moment Malin returned to Majorca to confront Terry for “cheating” on her.
Their showdown played out in the impossibly cool setting of Laos, a bar and restaurant in Colonia de Sant Jordi, close to last year’s villa in Ses Salines. Its chic decor, high-end food and cool rooftop bar are well worth a visit when holidaying on the island. See .
Divine dating
LOVE Island’s Sam and Olivia may not have hit it off but you couldn’t blame the setting for their first date – Cases de Fetget for dinner.
This gorgeous 17th-century Majorcan house has been converted into a 4* hotel.
Its gastro restaurant serves traditional cuisine, the veg from its own garden.
Rooms from £92 per night. See .
Beach babes
WHILE the family-friendly beaches at Cala Bona and Cala Millor offer traditional fun in the sun, romantic couples should seek out the secluded coves on the east coast, including Cala Agulla, Font de sa Cala or Cala Torta.
The hidden beach at Cala Torta is at the end of a dusty road but you are rewarded with crystal-clear waters and can enjoy a glass of wine and plate of garlic prawns at the Bar Cala Torta.
Make sure you put your name down early for lunch.
Stay near the stars
COUPLES will love the 3* adults-only Catalonia del Mar in Cala Bona, with its modern rooms, pool and spa. Seven nights’ B&B is from £587 per person including Gatwick flights on June 28.
If your budget is more modest, the family-run Sur Hotel in Cala Bona is a comfy choice near the beach. Seven nights’ room-only is from £257 per person, with Stansted flights on August 31.
And for a full-on blowout, check out the 5* Hipocampo Palace in Cala Millor, set in tropical gardens with stylish rooms and a large outdoor pool. Seven nights’ B&B is from £894 per person including Luton flights on July 5.
