The pound had already taken a tumble thanks to Brexit, but the election result managed to make the change in your pocket lose even more value - and just in time for summer.

Since last year's EU referendum, the pound is down 14 per cent against the dollar and down 13 per cent against the euro.

That has made trips to Europe and America pricey for British holiday-makers.

But is there anywhere else you can visit where your badly beaten pound has still got legs?

Sun Online has found four other nations whose currencies have gone downhill even more than ours since we voted to leave the EU.

Here are our top suggestions on where to travel if you want to get the most bang for your buck...

Argentina

Argentina has been hit with runaway inflation over the past year, but with the pound up four per cent on pre-Brexit figures, there's never been a better time to visit the Latin nation.

Flights to the capital are cheapest in November - a great time to visit as it's late spring in the southern hemisphere.

Buenos Aires is a one of South America's best holiday cities, influenced by the Europe, but with it's own distinct personality and proud traditions, including football and tango.

Turkey's currency, the lira, has plummeted in recent months as a result of the sharp rise in security risks.

That means that the pound is up seven per cent on pre-Brexit figures against the lira.

Hotels in places like Mamaris have also been slashing their prices to attract holidaymakers, so prices are cheap for Brits both when booking a trip and when they get there.

The Egyptian pound has lost half its value since November 3, after the country abandoned its currency peg to the U.S. dollar.

That makes it one of very few holiday destinations where your pound will go further than this time last year - up 84 per cent since June 2016.

While the Foreign Office still advise against all but essential travel to North Sinai and have stopped all UK flights to Sharm El Sheikh, there are still plenty of great places to visit in Egypt.

The resort town of Hurghada on the Red Sea Riviera, traditionally dominated by the German market, has grown in popularity in the UK.

The glimmer of hope in all of this currency gloom is that the UK has seen a massive boost in visitors over the past year as foreigners rush to take advantage of the weak pound.

Brits are also staying at home, with Pitchup.com reporting booking growth for domestic holidays rising from 34 per cent to 46 per cent.
