These are the places you are most likely to bump into a Premier League footballer on holiday
THANKS to their busy training schedules, Premier League footballers lead fairly boring social lives.
But there is one month of the year after the season ends when they are let loose at some of the most exclusive holiday destinations around the world.
For the next few weeks, the multi-millionaire sportsmen will be relaxing on sun loungers and sipping cold beers with friends and family, within metres of mere mortals.
So where do footballers go and holiday and which bars and restaurants are most likely to host them?
Sun Online has compiled a guide of some of the most popular spots around the globe, read on to find out more...
IBIZA AND FORMENTERA
The Balearic island of Ibiza is a magnet for party-loving footballers.
Over the last few years, every player from Peter Crouch to Danny Wellbeck have been spotted on the Mediterranean beaches.
MOST READ IN TRAVEL
Given its popularity among rich party goers over the last 20 years, Ibiza has countless posh beach clubs, nightclubs and restaurants that would attract a rich young sportsman.
Beach bars popular among players include Blue Marlin in the Cala Jondal Bay, popular with the likes of Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy, and Ocean Beach Ibiza, popular with Mario Balotelli, Dele Alli and Jermaine Defoe, where entry costs 15 euros.
Ushaia is the hotel nightclub of choice for young Premier League players, with Danny Simpson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs all spotted in the VIP area of the dancefloor in recent years, and tickets to music events cost from 35 euros.
The more sophisticated footballers like to head to the neighbouring island of Formentera these days though, like Cesc Fabregas, who holidayed there with his family last year.
For a likely footballer spot, head to Es Pujols restaurant on the island, frequented by Frank Lampard and Diego Maradona.
DUBAI
Dubai is another magnet for footballers during the summer time.
Everyone from Andy Carroll and John Terry to Ryan Giggs and Jesse Lingard has holidayed in the desert city.
Jumeirah Beach Club has hosted many of the biggest names in English football since it was built.
Steven Gerrard spent his honeymoon with Alex Curran there, and Michael Owen and John Terry are both regular visitors.
The younger players like Andy Carroll and Joey O’Brien also like to pay a visit to the White nightclub on the rooftop of the Meydan Racecourse Grandstand, which is seen as is one of Dubai's most exclusive venues.
BARBADOS
Given the amount of millionaires who holiday in Barbados every year, footballers are probably pretty small earners compared to other guests.
The world famous Sandy Lane resort is hugely popular among players though.
Alan Shearer, Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney are frequently pictured relaxing on the private white beach with their families.
The hotel is extortionately expensive, but it is possible to visit for lunch without being a guest.
ALGARVE, PORTUGAL
Brits love the Algarve and footballers are no exception to this rule.
If you’re hoping to spot a player on holiday, it’s worth heading to the five star resort of Quinta do Lago, which has three golf courses, several fancy restaurants, a spa and a concierge beach service.
Steven Gerrard loves it so much that he bought a house there and John Terry regularly visits with his family.
You can book rooms at the Hotel Quinta Do Lago from £299 or just visit one of the golf courses for a round.
MALLORCA
Ibiza isn’t the only Balearic island beloved by footballers – Mallorca is also hugely popular among players.
Last year, Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy partied up a storm on the island during the model’s brother’s wedding, and Ryan Giggs and Danny Ings have already paid a visit this year.
The hotspots where players hang out aren’t likely to break the bank here either.
Ryan Giggs was pictured relaxing at Roxy's Beach Bar, which sits down on the water’s edge near Portals Nous Town, and where snacks can be bought from around 7 euros.
LAS VEGAS
Gambling and clubbing are two favourite pastimes of footballers, so is it any surprise that they can’t stay away from Las Vegas?
Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen are all regular visitors to the Nevada party city.
One of the best places to spot a player is the Wynn Hotel, where Wayne and Coleen Rooney spent their honeymoon.
In happier times, exes Jamie O’Hara and Danielle Lloyd were also spotted in the sin city, celebrating the reality star’s 30th birthday at Wet Republic in the MGM Grand hotel.
