Photos reveal how the other half eats in business class – while you’re left chewing on a limp salad in economy

Business Class customers dine on restaurant-quality meals, while Economy passengers get sweaty grub in a plastic box

THE saying “you get what you pay for” sums up the difference between Economy and Business Class on planes perfectly.

Not only do you get much more leg room and access to airport lounges, but the food is actually edible too.

A series of photos on Flickr that was shared by passengers eating in both cabins has revealed just how stark the differences are when placed side by side though.

While the Business Class meals are often presented beautifully on porcelain plates, with proper cutlery, the Economy grub sits sweating in a small plastic box.

While some of the offerings are admittedly impressive, like the Emirates Economy meal; as a rule, the Business Class dishes are the only edible-looking ones.

The American Airlines Business Class meal wouldn't look out of place in a fancy restaurant, whereas the airline's Economy version probably doesn't even require a pair of teeth to eat it

However, you’d have to really want a posh meal in order to pay the price.

According to Travel Insider, the average business class seat on a transatlantic flight is nearly 10 times the cost of an economy seat on the same plane.

Considering your meal probably cost about a tenner to make, it hardly seems worth it.

So maybe it’s worth just splurging on a Pret sandwich at the airport before you board…
