Zip World launches UK’s only alpine roller coaster where YOU control the speed

Scream if you wanna go faster? Now there’s a more effective way to make a rollercoaster speed up or slow down.
Zip World has launched the UK’s only alpine coaster, where passengers control the brake.
On the forest coaster in Snowdonia, visitors can control their speed as they weave through 0.6 miles of woodland scenery.
The 1-2 person carriages reach speeds of up to 25 mph on the route, which includes 10 hair raising bends down mountain terrain, just 1.5m away from the trees.
Starting their journey in the heart of the woodland, visitors are strapped into a sledge with the simple controls.
Braking and control systems ensure that sledges are kept a safe distance apart and also enforce a maximum speed.
The Forest Coaster costs £15pp for three rides for customers aged nine and upwards, and £7.50 for children under the age of nine.
