English tourist attraction’s £40million expansion to have one of the UK’s biggest indoor adventure parks
AN ANIMAL attraction in Farnham is about to undergo a huge transformation - and kids are going to love it.
Plans to invest millions into the bird attraction to create new spaces has been approved and it will include the biggest indoor play zone in the region.
Birdworld currently stands on a 26-acre park and is home to thousands of birds from penguins and owls to flamingos, as part of ongoing conservation work.
Recently, the attraction have had their plans approved to undergo a £40million renovation project that will create three huge play zones.
Inside will be a 1,500 square foot play area - this will be one of the biggest indoor play zones in the UK.
It will be set out in interconnected colourful birdhouses with lots slides, tunnels and nets to crawl across.

Nearby there will be a designated toddler soft play area with seating for parents.
Birdland will also renovate their outdoor play by creating a site that they've named 'Spriglet Village'.
The area will feature large wooden towers, connecting bridges, and a spiral net, all set above ground at a variety of heights.
Along the trail there will be puzzles, climbing and boulder walls and rope swings.
The outside overhaul continues with a water zone 'inspired by bird baths' with fountains and wooden troughs for kids to play in.
The play area features low-level log seating and staggered wooden platforms with water pumps, decorated with sculpted leaves and branches.
Birdworld director Matt Hill said: "We want Birdworld to be a place of wonder and learning for all families."
While the attraction is set to expand, it has recently lost one of its features, the Jenny Wren Farm petting area which opened in 1990.
Matt added that closing the farm was a "difficult" decision, but it meant efforts would be concentrated more on the new play areas and conservation.
He said: "We’re ensuring all of the farm’s animals are rehomed in carefully selected environments where they’ll continue to thrive."
The plans also include the demolition and replacement of the neighbouring Forest Lodge Garden Centre with an improved and more energy-efficient building.
Work to expand Birdworld is expected to begin later this year.
