British Airways scraps more short-haul flights next summer

MORE flights appear to have been scrapped by British Airways during the summer holidays next year.

Earlier this month, the flag carrier confirmed that they would be suspending their London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi routes.

And now short-haul flights appear to have been affected by cancellations.

Flights to both Santorini and Mykonos from London Gatwick appear to no longer be on sale.

Aviation analyst Sean M wrote on social media: "British Airways appears to have removed 2 routes from London Gatwick from sale: Mykonos [and] Santorini."

Brits can still travel from London Heathrow to both of the Greek islands, although will mean reduced options for people travelling from London.

And two routes from London Heathrow to Europe appear to no longer be on sale either.

Both Kos and Pula are not on sale on the British Airways website for summer 2025,

They said: "I’m not sure what rebooking options have been given for Pula.

"A search for Pula on ba.com now brings up a BA flight to Zagreb followed by a long wait (I saw a day with a seven hour layover!) for a connection on Croatia Airlines.

BA only returned to Gatwick Airport in 2022, launching international short-haul flights.

But a number of routes have been scrapped in recent months.

On December 18, the airline confirmed the Heathrow-Abu Dhabi route would be suspended from March to October next year.

This is due to ongoing engine issues with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes.

Its London Gatwick to New York route has been suspended until next year, having launched it back in 2015.

And from March 2025, flights to Kuwait will be suspended, after u-turning on its planned Bahrain cancellations.
