Best time to visit Thailand

The best time to visit Thailand is between November and early April, as temperatures average between 32 and 36C, and there are up to nine hours of sunshine every day.

March is a particularly good time to visit because the weather is fine and it isn't as crowded.

April is also a good time to visit, but it's busier and you should book your accommodation early.

Cool season in Thailand

Thailand is always going to be hot, but they do have “cooler” times of year.

If you visit during November to February temperatures don’t tend to exceed more than the early 30s and usually stay around the late 20s.

This means you can still enjoy the beaches and explore the incredible islands this country has to offer.

Monsoon season in Thailand

The rainy season is caused by the southwest monsoon that occurs from May to October.

The monsoon brings heavy rain and high humidity to most of the country, including the northern region and the west coast.

Travellers should note, the heaviest rainfall starts around September.

If you don’t mind some lighter showers, May to August is a good time to visit the country.

The monsoon season starts to ease off in early October.

Cheapest time to go to Thailand

If you’re looking for the cheapest way to get to Thailand, flights between April to June and September to October cost a lot less.
