Huge new £331million attraction to open in Europe with waterpark, outdoor swimming pools and ‘slide world’

A HUGE new multi-million-pound water attraction is set to open in Germany within the next four years.
Thermenwelt Bad Vilbel is currently in development with construction work slated to start on the huge complex next year.

The huge mega spa will be located near Frankfurt and will be the largest thermal spa complex in Germany when it opens.
When it opens, the water attraction will have a large sauna area, a sports pool and a family-friendly waterpark with a 'slide world'.
It's thought that there will be more than 30 saunas and thermal pools.
An indoor pool will have eight lanes and there will also be a training pool.

Fitness and health facilities will also be on the site.
Concept images of the water attraction also show outdoor swimming pools.
Thermenwelt Bad Vilbel is being built by two companies, Thermengruppe Josef Wund and the Therme Group.
All the necessary plans were submitted earlier this year with construction work slated to start next year.

The huge water attraction has been in development for the last 10 years.
It was initially estimated to cost around €200million (£165million) but this figure has since increased to €400million (£331million).
While an opening date has yet to be confirmed, it is thought that the water attraction will open in stages.

The indoor swimming pool is slated to open in 2027, according to several local newspapers.
Other attractions will open in 2028 - although a definitive timeline has yet to be confirmed.
Ticket prices and opening times also haven't been confirmed.
The UK is also getting a huge new water attraction.
Construction work on Therme Manchester is finally underway, years after it was first announced.
Therme Manchester revealed plans for the £250million resort back in 2020, being dubbed the 'UK's first wellbeing resort'.
Initially hoping to have opened in 2024 - only to be delayed by the pandemic - works are set to finally start next year.
James Whittaker, Executive Director of Development at Peel L&P said: “After five years working in partnership with Therme, we are delighted to hear planning permission has been approved for this incredible, high-quality health and wellbeing resort in TraffordCity.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with the whole of the Therme team to deliver something truly unique and iconic in the UK.
"Not only world-leading for health and wellbeing but will also create a significant number of new jobs and have a huge positive economic impact for North West England.”
The current opening timeline is 2027, although this could be delayed.

Picture one of those famous Center Parcs domes, then imagine it seven times bigger.
Therme has its own exotic climate — the air temperature never drops below 30C — so you’ll see bananas and coconuts growing on some of its cherished 800,000 trees, plants and living walls.
Then there’s everything you can see and do inside the waterpark-spa hybrid, from whirling water slides for kids to high-tech treatments for couples and poolside bars, with DJs, that stag and hen parties would love.
Grown-ups can enjoy a hydro-massage bed, visit “wet saunas” — some of which are infused with botanicals and herbs — and sit in a relaxing salt library, with walls built from blocks on Himalayan salt, known for its medicinal and mental health benefits.

Romania has its own Therme Bucharest, although the Manchester attraction will be double the size.
