A QUARRY in Wales is set to open the largest attraction of its kind in the world, if planning permission is approved.
Zip World in Penrhyn Quarry in Wales has submitted plans to open a brand-new attraction on its Welsh site.
Referred to as 'The Swing' in planning documents, the new attraction would be the largest of its kind in the world.
The new swing attraction would sit within the site's existing quarry, with tension cables, steel columns and concrete pad footings keeping it in place.
Very few details are known about what the attraction will look like, although it's likely to feature a swing platform, a ramp and a landing structure.
Visitors will be taken up a ramp before being led into a cart that will then transport them to a swing platform hanging from cables.

The swing will then move away from the platform, according to planning documents.
Zip World has planned the new attraction following a fall in visitor numbers, reports .
The Welsh tourist attraction has described the Swing as a "unique product with its selling point of being the largest of this type of attraction in the world".
They added: "It is also less susceptible to high winds than the zip line and would provide a bad-weather alternative."

Until planning permission is approved there are several other activities already at Zip World, including the UK's first zipline rollercoaster.
The Aero Explorer ride opened last year and offers thrill-seekers a "high-speed journey across the quarry" like no other.
An overhead track is connected to a harness on the rider, which enables them to glide around as if they're on a rollercoaster.
The track is found high above the quarry, offering views of the landscape as people fly around connected to the circuit above.
Riders move at speeds of up to 30mph while zipping through the 400m track, which has three loops as well as plenty of other twists and turns.
The website promises: "As you go, you'll soar above the rugged terrain, taking in breathtaking views of the quarry landscape.
"Whether you're an experienced thrill-seeker or a first-time adventurer, this new experience will surely leave you feeling exhilarated and energised.
"This exciting experience is perfect for adrenaline junkies who crave excitement."
Aero Explorer isn't the only attraction for guests to have a go on either, with Velocity zipping riders right over Penrhyn Quarry at speeds of up to and over 100mph in front of Snowdonia.
For those who aren't interested in travelling quite so quickly, the Quarry Flyer offers a less adrenaline-fuelled ride, while Quarry Karts provides the UK’s only mountain cart experience.
Drivers travel on three-wheeled karts down an obstacle-filled 3 kilometre slate track.
Zip World also has locations throughout Wales and elsewhere in the UK, including in Manchester and Windermere.
