It's one of the few places in the world where visitors can spot the 'big five' in their native habitat.

This includes lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalos.

There is also a scenic coastline along the Indian Ocean, where holidaymakers can relax on the beach, snorkel and dive.

The country is also an attractive destination because of its culture with tourists able to learn about the customs of local tribes and explore historical monuments, such as Lamu Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

While Nairobi combines animals with culture, visitors can take a day excursion to Nairobi National Park and visit the giraffe centre.

Nairobi has a milder climate with average temperatures between 10 and 26C.

Elsewhere in the coastal regions, such as Mombasa, temperatures range from 23 to 35C throughout the year.

The dry season, which means high temperatures and hardly any rainy days, is between May and October, making it the best time to visit.

Back in 2023, tour operator TUI re-introduced Kenya as a holiday destination for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sun Online Travel have found seven-night all-inclusive breaks from £1,215 per person during the country's peak season.
