Anyone hoping to clip in and watch their footing as they traverse the indoor climbing wall may want to make sure their friends and family aren't perusing the local sales or they may be forced to look down.

For those not afraid of heights, a zip wire has also been constructed in the Watford centre's atrium space.

Perfect for birthday parties and celebrations, a new 2,000 sq ft extension has been added to offer adrenaline-junkies the chance to view their local shopping destination from views they haven't seen before.

The high ropes course even features a unique viewing point so those brave enough to take the leap and sign up can also take in the action below.

Rock's Up originally opened an eight metre wall in 2018 at the venue with various routes to attempt.

Whilst a café and soft play area was introduced to ensure those thrill seekers who are too young to meet the requirements to ascend the climb can still enjoy the space.

From small independent shops to household brands, the new indoor aerial adventure joins the 1.4 million sq ft space that is home to retail brands.

Managing Director of Rock Up UK Aaran Eade : "We are delighted to open this incredibly exciting new venture for our visitors. We are continuously looking at ways we can expand our offering and atria Watford is the perfect place to help us achieve this.”

"A visit to atria is no longer simply about the shopping – it’s about the ‘day out’. We are looking forward to Rock Up adding to our already strong leisure offering and driving footfall for the remainder of summer and into peak season."

The brand new activity can host up to 16 people at one time with bookings needed to be made online beforehand.

Rock Up Watford posted on Facebook to unveil the announcement and to make sure potential customers have been warned about one very important detail.

Those hoping to conquer the heights at The Atria must be "at least 1.4 metres tall to take on the challenge".

The company encouraged everyone to sign-up from "seasoned climbers" or those "new to the ropes" as the opportunity offers a "chance to soar above and beyond".

Some have flocked to post videos on social media of their friends and family trying out.

One Facebook user commented: "Proper brave, heights are no joke!"
