THINK of the best all-inclusive holiday you’ve ever been on, then multiply that by 100 . . . and you’re probably still not even close to what is the Rixos Radamis in Egypt.

It doesn’t just reinvent all inclusive, it reinvents luxury holidays, as I was lucky enough to discover in a fantastic week spent at the Sharm El Sheikh Resort.

Rixos have five hotels and resorts in Sharm but the Radamis, which opened late last year, is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown.

From the moment I stepped into the stunning lobby it was clear this was going to be a very special holiday.

The Radamis Hotel is spilt into two huge areas, the Tirana resort is aimed more at families and kids with the rooms brightly and playfully decorated.

I was staying in the Blue Planet section which, while also catering for families, is more aimed at couples and older groups, with rooms and suites decorated in a more classical style.

My massive family room, overlooking the beautiful main pool area, had not one but two double bedrooms, sprawling bathroom, huge balcony, two huge TVs, great WiFi and a fridge that was constantly restocked with beers water and soft drinks free of charge.

After arriving well past 11pm I wasn’t expecting any food to be available but they do things differently at the Radamis and the Turquoise Restaurant provides a full late dinner service from 11pm-2am, perfect!

Dining is a huge part of the resort’s concept and they aim to deliver five-star service at every meal starting from breakfast at The Blue Planet’s Veranda restaurant, where the magnificent buffet had every taste catered for.

Veranda is also the most popular spot for lunch and again the options are mouthwatering and plentiful with fantastic choice of freshly cooked meat and fish dishes.

With the weather touching the mid-30s and constant sunshine from 7am most of the guests cool off in the two huge main pools in Tirana and Blue Planet or several other smaller pools dotted around both hotels.

Although the Radamis is not adults only it had the feel of that at times during the day even though there were hundreds of kids at the resort.

So where were they all? Answer is — Kids Town — which is basically the ULTIMATE holiday paradise from kids from the age of four up to early teens.

This massive purpose built ‘town’ is certainly unique and parents can happily drop their kids off in the morning, leave them all day and then face a massive battle to get them out of there at night because they have had so much fun.

Highlight of Kids Town include an adventure park, a driving school (yes really) fire station, chemistry lab, cooking classes, swimming pool and their own self service buffet restaurant where mum and dad are definitely off the menu!

It’s a safe, fun packed, educational and incredible concept.

Kids and adults also love the beach and the Radamis has its own jaw-dropping huge private one just five minutes away in a club cart from the hotels (think golf carts but bigger).

On the short journey to the beach you are afforded a glimpse of the future as you pass the stunning luxury private villas which have just been built and a peek at the next hotel, plus shops, cafes, boutiques and bars which will cement Radamis’ position as THE go-to destination in Sharm.

And so to the beach, where my mind was truly blown.
In addition to the many sunbeds perched on the edge of the tempting Red Sea, there are my new favourite things in the world, the beach cabanas!

But of course being the Radamis they are the ultimate cabanas, complete with concierge service, free drinks and fruit provided all day, luxury sunbeds and huge sofas to chill and enjoy a glass of something very cold.

They do cost extra to hire and if there’s a group of you then why not upgrade to a luxury cabana, double the size, double the fun and the deal clinching extra of your own private jacuzzi right on the beach!

If you can drag yourself from the cabana then a short walk along the jetty takes you to a prime spot for scuba diving to see the incredible coral reefs with spectacular vibrant colours, and plenty of weird and wonderful fish.

And don’t worry if you ain’t a scuba diver, just snorkel instead.

You don’t even have to leave the beach for lunch as there is an excellent all day restaurant called People’s with a stunning location and great views of the Red Sea. Food on offer ranges from a la carte Italian dishes to burgers, pizzas and hotdogs.

There is also a Teppanyaki restaurant on the beach which specialises in show cooking but it’s only open in the evening.

Between the two hotels there are seven different restaurants, plus the two buffet style restaurants Veranda and Turquoise.

There’s an amazing choice of cuisine on offer from Mexican and Italian to Turkish or Asian and they all deliver fantastic food in stunning settings.

It was hard to pick a favourite, as they were all so good, but seafood restaurant Salt was the standout for me.

The restaurant is beautifully designed and located around a small lagoon. The service in every restaurant was impeccable but in Salt they raised the bar and the food matches the setting.

My advice is not to have a big lunch when you are going to Salt or any of the a la carte restaurants because including starters and a salad there are five and sometimes six courses.

At Salt I had seafood soup, followed by sushi, then shrimp and calamari, and finally the house special of seabass, salmon and lobster . . . a feast fit for a Pharaoh indeed!

All the restaurants were excellent but Italian-themed L’olivio and Mexican restaurant Cactus were my other two favourites.

Radamis’ entertainment is also next level. It has a huge outdoor arena with a superb mix of live acts, DJs, singers and performers every night, backed by an incredible sound system and light show — the perfect party the whole family can enjoy.

There are also fabulous beach parties at night, a great choice of bars, and when there are special sporting events on like the Euros or Olympics there are massive outdoor screens set up by the pool bars so you don’t miss any of the action.

Rixos Radamis is the new style of all-inclusive, but don’t just take my word for it, go and see for yourself.
