American Airlines is set to partner with The Landline Company to launch a luxury motorcoach connection service.

The service will operate from Wilmington Airport in Delaware to Philadelphia International Airport in Pennsylvania and vice versa.

According to the American Airlines , "This premium motorcoach experience offers many of the same amenities as a flight and is booked just like any other connecting flight in our network."

Additionally, passengers leaving Wilmington Airport will only have to check their bags once they arrive on the shuttle.

Ultimately, the service will eliminate having to clear traveler's bags by standing in a long TSA line, which could delay getting on flights on time.

The service will have 35 premium leather seats and is also equipped with free Wi-Fi, entertainment, and power in every seat.

"The American Airlines/ Landline service allows passengers to travel with peace of mind knowing their connections are protected with American Airlines," said Hannah Tamura, a spokesperson for Landline told .

"Riding with Landline eliminates the hassle of trying to find a ride or driving and parking at PHL.

"The ability to clear TSA security at ILG instead of waiting in unpredictable security lines at PHL is added benefit."

Delaware State Senator Marie Pinkey also released a statement calling the service a "welcome addition."

"The new American Airlines Landline Connection is a welcome addition to the customer choices offered at Wilmington Airport.

"We now have easy, hassle free access to American Airlines global network at Wilmington Airport, including convenient one-stop service to more than 100 destinations around the world via its Philadelphia hub.

"With its focus on convenience, low cost, and customer service, our hometown Wilmington Airport is on the move!"

The new services are set to launch at the Delaware airport on October 7.

Currently, the motorcoach will make six round trips a day between the Wilmington and Philadelphia airports.

Passengers will also be able to collect AAdvantage miles on their Landline travel.

Cities American Airlines x Landline Operates From

While American Airlines is just introducing the Landline motorcoach service at Wilmington Airport, it already exists in certain cities. The experience is available at:

  • Allentown/Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
  • Atlantic City, New Jersey
  • Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The process of using the new American Airlines x Landline service is fairly straightforward.

Travelers will book their trip with American Airlines as normal.

Instead of having a connecting flight, the connection to and from Philadelphia will appear as "Operated by The Landline Company."

Once booked, passengers can check in for their motorcoach just as they would their flight.

Commuters will arrive at the airport, check in normally, and board the shuttle.
