WHEN you think of trendy places in London, you're likely to think of Shoreditch or Soho.
Yet King's Cross, known for being near one of the major UK train stations, is one now one of the cooler neighbourhoods to visit.
Many know of it due to being part of St Pancras, which connects England to Europe via the Eurostar.
But the King's Cross neighbourhood has changed in recent years with pop ups, restaurants and bars.
It's home to the famous British Library as well as much-loved bars and restaurants such as Dishoom and the super-cool Booking Office.
And nearby is Granary Square, home to outdoor shopping district Coal Drops Yard with clothing, jewellery and gift stores as well as restaurants and bars.
Right next to it is Lower Stable Street Market, with ever-changing food stalls.
Screen on the Canal has live screenings as well as films, while the 12-day free music festival Summer Sounds is back next month.
Outdoor art exhibitions, salsa classes and free boules are just some of the other events taking place this summer.
Also new is The Souvenir Shop, run by Illustrator and designer Carol Maxwell.
Carol, who curated the shop, says it "pays homage to the tradition of holiday mementos but in a cool, modern London way with lashings of British seaside charm and a touch of Riviera chic".
She added: "The vibrant, colourful beach hut style of the pop-up shop reflects the lively atmosphere of King’s Cross.
"Each piece is a love letter to summer, perfect for locals and globe-trotters alike.
"It’s a place where art, design, and summer fun come together, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it."
Souvenirs range from towels and artwork to postcards and t-shirts.
It won't be around all year so make sure to visit this summer.
The shop, already open in Granary Square, is running until September 8.
King's Cross Station even nearly became an airport in the 1930s - here's why it never happened.
If you fancy staying, there are some stylish hotels at King's Cross too.
There is the famous St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, not only named one of the UK's most romantic but also featured in the Spice Girls music video, Wannabe.
Or there is The Standard, with 70s decor right by the station too.
Here's another trendy UK neighbourhood that's even been compared to New York City.
