Wetherspoons fans can take grand tour of its best pubs in chauffeur-driven Bentley with personal guide

WETHERSPOONS fans can get oiled on a grand tour of its best pubs — chauffeur-driven in a Bentley and with their own personal guide.

Organisers say customers will not only be able to sup cheap pints, but drink in the history of architectural gems.

But the six-night booze cruise, including hotels but not drink or food, cost upwards of £1,300 per person.

Travel firm MyUKTour has put together one itinerary in the North and one in the South.

The North Grand Tour kicks off in Keswick, Cumbria, with a visit to The Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, which began life as a court and police station.

There is a stop at Blackpool’s Velvet Coaster pub, one of the largest and recently crowned “the nicest Wetherspoons”.

And it takes in the Sir William de Wessyngton in Washington, Tyne and Wear — named the cheapest Spoons in the North.

Highlights in The South include the “poshest Spoons” — the Corn Exchange in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

And there is a visit to former chapel George’s Meeting House, round the corner from where the chain’s boss Tim Martin lives in Exeter, Devon.

The car crawl will also go to the Rochester Castle, in Stoke Newington, East London.

It has been a pub for more than 300 years and been a gig venue for bands including The Police and The Jam.

MyUkTour said the tours will “showcase the very best that Britain has to offer”.
