WITH temperatures hitting highs of 37C and holidays costing as little as £233pp, Turkey is the place to be this summer.

Turkey was also crowned the "cheapest holiday destination" last year. Although it has lost its spot this year, the country still offers incredible value for Brits.

Tourists can enjoy a beach holiday without breaking the bank, as evening meals with a bottle of wine have an average cost of around £20pp.

Meanwhile, bottles of beer cost around £2.85, and coffee is only £1.45.

The new barometer accounts for typical beach items, such as buckets and spades, inflatables, snorkel sets, ice cream, pedalo rides and waterpark visits.

Marmaris came out on top, with an average cost of £153 for these extras.

Ice cream prices also offer a revealing snapshot of the cost of travelling with kids.

Another reason why Turkey is so famous is its massive assortment of attractions.
