THE tallest and fastest triple launch rollercoaster has been forced to close indefinitely - just days after opening.
Top Thrill 2 opened on May 4 at Cedar Point in Ohio, US, with top speeds of 120mph.
Replacing the original Top Thrill ride, also known as The Dragster, the new rollercoaster reached highs of 420ft.
However, it has been forced to shut down due to a "mechanical failure".
The theme park said in a statement: "Top Thrill 2 is currently experiencing an extended closure as Zamperla (the ride’s manufacturer) completes a mechanical modification to the ride's vehicles.
"Once the modification is complete, Zamperla, the Cedar Point maintenance & operations teams and our third-party ride inspection partner will conduct a thorough review before approving both the modification and the reopening of the ride.

"We know our guests are excited to experience this incredible roller coaster, and we share your disappointment that we are not able to operate it this weekend.
"We will do everything possible to reopen Top Thrill 2 as soon as we are confident we can deliver the ride experience that our guests deserve."
The ride is closed indefinitely as the theme park said it "could not confirm a reopening date".
People have been left gutted by the news.

Use these tips on your next theme park trip
Next time you visit a theme park, you may want to use our top tips to make the most of your adrenaline-inducing day out.
- Go to the back of the theme park first. Rides at the front will have the longest queues as soon as it opens.
- Go on water rides in the middle of the day in the summer - this will cool you off when the sun is at its hottest.
- Download the park's app to track which rides have the shortest queues.
- Visit on your birthday, as some parks give out "birthday badges" that can get you freebies.
- If it rains, contact the park. Depending on how much it rained, you may get a free ticket to return.
