The £350million ‘island’ project with hotel and riverside walks to transform UK city
PLANS have been revealed for a UK city centre, with a new hotel and riverside walks.
The regeneration project also includes new shops and places to eat and drink.
The plans would see disused space near Temple Meads in Bristol transformed into a brand new urban district.
Legal & General, who have put the proposals forward, have revealed artist's impressions of what they're hoping to build as part of the wider Temple Quarter and St Philips regeneration.

Two office blocks, 500 new homes and a conference centre are also included.
The site, which was formerly used as a train diesel depot, has been vacant since 1995.
Legal & General claims to want to create a new "mixed use development high quality public realm" with designs that "seek to create a new landmark on this prominent city".
The lists several new facilities as part of the plans.
As well as the new hotel, office buildings and homes, it also proposes a new public square bordered by shops and cafes and new riverside walking routes and connections to other parts of Bristol.

Ben Rodgers, Head of Regeneration for L&G, said the company is using consultations with the public to shape their plans for the space.
He said: “Through consulting hundreds of people in Bristol, we know they want to see exemplary design at the heart of place-led regeneration schemes.
"We're extremely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to tell us what they think about the project so far.
"It's helped us design a new landmark on this prominent city centre site that works with the grain of Bristol's architecture."
Ben went on to add that he hoped more people would engage with future showcase events, as well as online, before they submit an official planning application.
Residents who want to find out more information can attend one of the events between March 14-16 at Totterdown Tesco Car Park and near the Harbourside fountains in central Bristol.
The regeneration project will reportedly cost as much as £350m.
Bristol isn't the only city with plans for future development.
