Most Brit holidaymakers probably haven't even heard of Tatralandia in Slovakia.

Tatralandia is the biggest aqua park in Slovakia, making it one of the largest in central Europe.

While the waterpark is open throughout the year, it truly comes to life between July and September during its summer season.

Despite the relatively short summer stint, several other attractions at Tatralandia are open throughout the winter, with indoor temperatures reaching as high as 30C in the colder months.

There are 28 water slides across the entire waterpark, with six slides open year-round, including Rapido, a 90m-long blue tube slide.

Jungle Raft is another water slide that's open throughout the year.

Other year-round water slides include Monkey Slide, Black & White, Tornado and Wood Splash.

And there are plenty of other water slides for parkgoers to enjoy in the summer, including the Boomerang Raft Ramp, where two visitors hop onboard a raft.

Other summer water slides include Niagara, Banana Fun, Black Magic, Crazy River, the Roller Coaster, Triple Splash and Twister.

Tatralandia is also home to 14 swimming pools, 10 of which are open throughout the year.

Meanwhile, in the summer months, four outdoor pools also open, including Amazonia, which is ideal for kids.

Tatralandia also has its own wellness centre and spa, as well as Tropical Paradise, which is another area where parkgoers can relax.

There are also several restaurants and bars for visitors to grab a bite to eat, including Paradiso Restaurant, Marina Bar and Barbados Bar.

The aqua park also has its very own Holiday Village, which is the only overnight accommodation option at the waterpark.

Holidaymakers who opt to stay at the Holiday Village will be allowed into the waterpark 15 minutes earlier than other guests.

Other added perks include free equipment hire for children, a children's buffet and ice cream at dinner as well as a towel exchange at the one-site shop.

The park gets good ratings from the public, with an overall score of 4/5 from more than 1,100 reviews on TripAdvisor, with many visitors praising the water park in their reviews.

Tatralandia isn't the only overlooked waterpark in Europe.

Part of the Polish theme park Energylandia, the huge waterpark has over 36 slides, and 7,000 sunloungers, which means no more scrapping over sun beds.
