Basanth has now revealed how there is one particular app on his phone that made travelling much easier.

He told Forbes that an offline translation tool on your phone was an "absolute godsend."

He said: "Whether it’s asking for directions in an unfamiliar city, placing an order at a restaurant or simply making a new friend at the local pub, transcending the language barrier is a useful first step to helping one make the most of their vacation.

"In addition, it can also save you a great deal of hassle and inconvenience when dealing with local authorities.”

Basanth revealed his favourite discovery was the Blue City of Chefchaouen in Morocco. And he singled out the exotic city for its beauty, and praised the local cuisine.

For budget conscious travellers Basanth recommended Cairo in Egypt.

He said that a full course Arabic-style dinner would typically cost around $5 dollars a head.

He said that that a cab to the airport (approximately one hour) would set you back no more than $10, unlike the $100 dollars tourists pay to travel from Manhattan to JFK.
