The resort has 12 lodges to choose from where guests can test their survival skills.

The camouflaged forest huts are are made from mud and wood, and often compared to hobbit houses with berries and mushrooms growing on the roofs.

Each one has a fireplace, although guests will have to chop the trees themselves to find wood to fuel it.

Guests will also have to source their own water, with a nearby spring easy to access when wanting to wash up.

And with no shops nearby, anyone staying can forage for food with the mushrooms and berries in the area although there is also a pantry on-site with some basics.

Thankfully there are two single beds with sleeping bags, sheepskin blankets and pillows, so you can at least get a warm night's sleep.

And some guests may even enjoy the silence and tranquility, with very little noise elsewhere due to the lack of electricity.

Finding it too much? There are restaurants, supermarkets and cafes at the nearby city of Skinnskatteberg.

"As you arrive at Kolarbyn, you will see lots of trees, more trees and even more trees."

They also have activities you can book, such as romantic stays, bushcraft courses, safari adventures with wolves and moose, and hiking expeditions.

A floating sauna is on-site too, and guests can go fishing or rent canoes.

Previous guests have loved the rather unusual stay.

One person wrote: "A hit with the whole family. We travelled all the way from the UK [and the] teenage boys loved splitting our wood."

Another agreed, commenting: "A piece of heaven. The huts surrounded by the forest and a beautiful lake are just magical.

"We chopped wood and learnt to start our own fire to cook or to warm up the floating sauna."
