SPLASH OUT

The biggest floating aqua park in the UK set to reopen this summer – with slides, 140 obstacles and campsite

And two other record-breaking water parks in the world

THE UK’s biggest floating aqua park is to reopen again this summer - and is in the middle of a huge National Park.

New Forest Water Park first opened in 1989, and launched the aqua park in 2015.

Also the first of its kind to open in the UK, the huge structure is more than 260ft long.

There are two identical structures, called Wibits, to choose from inside the 50-acre attraction - Poseidon and Neptune.

Of the 140 obstacles, guests can try out trampolines, climbing walls and swings while trying not to fall into the water.

Thankfully you can get back on easily, with lifeguards stationed throughout.

The attraction closes for the winter, but is set to reopen again this May in time for the summer season, and stay open until October.

If you fancy more of a challenge, other water sports include wakeboarding - with a five pylon wakeboard cable similar to a ski lift system - as well as stand up paddleboarding and kayaking.

Tickets start from £20 for a one hour session, with extra costs including wet suit and grippy sock hire, the latter of which are recommended to make it easier to get back onto the inflatable structure.

Don't worry if you get hungry either.

There is an onsite clubhouse serving hot and cold drinks, as well as alcohol, although you aren't allowed to drink before going on the water attraction.

There is also Jen's Cafe serving food such as paninis, burgers and ice creams.

You can even spend the night at the attraction, with camping options from £17.50 per adult.

Hundreds of Brits have raved about the park, with a number of five-star reviews online.

One person wrote: "We visited the water park with my 10 year old and 12 year old. It was so much fun, felt like a teenager again."

Another said: "It was so good I came back the next day with friends and we all wanted to stay longer on the course."

A third added: "After a summer holiday filled with numerous days out/trips, our little ones announced that New Forest Water Park had been 'the best day ever'."

If you fancy some water rides, the biggest water park in the UK is found in Blackpool.

Sandcastle Water Park in Blackpool, which opened nearly 40 years ago, has 18 slides, treehouses and the UK's biggest water cannon.

Otherwise for the world’s largest indoor water park, you’ll have to visit Poland.

Suntago: Park of Poland covers 75,000 square metres with 35 water slides and a constant 32C temperature.

It opened in 2020 - knocking the previous biggest indoor water park, Tropical Island in Germany, off the top spot.
