What is Drayton Manor?

Drayton Manor is predominantly a theme park but is also home to a zoo and Thomas Land.

The park is designed for those of all ages, with family rides as well as some for those who want something a bit more adrenaline inducing.

Drayton Manor is located in Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire.

It covers 180 acres and hosts about 1.5 million visitors each year.

It is the fourth-largest amusement park in the UK by land area at 280 acres.

The on-site zoo is home to more than 500 animals, including Red pandas, Eurasian lynx, Sumatran tigers and a variety of monkeys and gibbons.

Before becoming a theme park, the land belonged to the Peel family.

Drayton Manor mansion was built in 1835 but had been reduced to ruins by 1926, with only the clock tower surviving at the park entrance.

After this, it was turned into a training venue for The British Army during World War II but not long after was turned into an amusement park.

When does Drayton Manor open in 2024?

The next time you are able to visit the theme park at Drayton Manor is Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Before this, you can visit the zoo on limited days but the park will be closed.

To plan your visit, make sure you check the website to see when you are able to go.

The zoo and park are not open every day for the moment.

The new Intamin lift and launch coaster will open in 2024 and will be the parks first roller coaster since 2011.

Fine details of the coaster have not yet been revealed, but, it's been said it will feature both a lift hill and a powered launch and potentially a spinning element as well.

Drayton Manor Resort is in the grounds of the former Drayton Manor, in Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire.

You can travel and arrive by car, with parking costing £6.

Alternatively, you can use public transport to reach the theme park.

Make sure you arrange your travel plans in advance.

Those who are travelling from further away or want more than one day at the park may want to stay in the Drayton Manor hotel.

In 2009, plans for a hotel at Drayton Manor were submitted.

The 4-star hotel is made up of 150 guest rooms including 15 Thomas & Friends themed bedrooms.

If you fancy something a bit different then you can also camp at the park.

The Camping and Caravanning Club have a site at Drayton Manor with 90 pitches, glamping tents and a children's playground available.

You are able to book a variety of different tickets for Drayton Manor.

Options such as day tickets, zoo-only passes, annual passes and flexible tickets are available.
