The most famous spot is Nikki Beach, which is great for celeb spotting, resident DJs and luxurious cabanas on the white sandy beach.

Meanwhile, Oean's Beach Club is known for having some of the island's 'biggest pool parties'.

The beach club is open from the morning until the evening, and it's followed by its nightclub, 'Ocean Room', which is open until 6am.

Carrer Nuredduna and Blanquerna in Palma are said to be the cheapest neighbourhoods, with beers costing around £1.70 (2€).

Away from the beach parties and bars, the island is filled with activities and watersports.

Thanks to the endless miles of coastline, the island offers hundreds of watersports opportunities - from kayaking, windsurfing and diving to snorkelling and paddle diving, you'll always find something to do.

That said, if you are not a fan of water activities, there is a lot to explore inland.

For instance, the Catedral de Mallorca was remodelled by Gaudi more than 100 years ago and is the top activity to do in Palma on Tripadvisor, with more than 16,000 reviews.

The Palma Aquarium is 'one of the most interactive aquariums in Europe', and it's usually a hit with little ones.
