Work starts on huge new £48million UK beach attraction next month
A HUGE new £48million attraction right on the beach in the UK is set to start works next week.
Announced in 2021, the first phase of the Beach Masterplan will include parks and event spaces.
The project is part of a huge renovation of Aberdeen seafront over the next 20 years.
The Beach Masterplan will include a large "rope factory" playpark with climbing structures, swings and slides as well as a skate park, sports and games area.
The biggest tower would be nearly 80ft tall, with nine floors and metal chutes spiralling around it.
Lives shows, festivals and performances will take place across the new events space, amphitheatre and plaza.

"The beach area is also an intrinsic component of the Aberdeen Coastal Trail, and the wide variety of tourism offer that includes nature, golf, maritime history, and dolphin watching."
Chief commercial officer Craig Innes confirmed that works could start next month.
