Award-winning English theme park right on the beach reveals new ride for 2024 – and cheaper passes

And the two cheap holiday parks nearby

A SEASIDE theme park is reopening again for the season from March - with new rides and discounted passes.

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach was named one of the best seaside attractions in the UK last year.

The amusement park, right on the edge of Great Yarmouth South Beach, took silver for the Best Seaside Park in the UK Theme Park Awards.

And with reopening just a few months away, the park has announced some new changes, including a brand new ride.

The Polar Express circular ride, which was set to open last year, will launch this year instead.

The 20-car covered ride replaces the much-loved Mulan ride, which closed at the park in 2019 after 20 years.

The park said on social media: "As a company, we always try our best to listen to feedback from our customers and there was an overwhelming amount of people saying how much the Mulan has been missed since 2019.

"We are confident that the Polar Express will prove to be the perfect replacement and provide just as many laughs and memorable moments in the future."

Not only that, but season passes are also cheaper ahead of it's reopening.

Usually £90pp, anyone buying them before the opening on March 23 can get them for a discounted £80pp.

Otherwise day visitors can buy tickets for as little as £5 which has five credits, or £20 for an unlimited ride wristband.

Kids under three and carers get free entry to the park.

Most rides work on a credit system, ranging from two to three credit.

The biggest rides include the traditional wooden rollercoaster dating back to 1928, and the Big Apple Coaster, dubbed the best "first taste" rollercoaster for kids.

Other rides include The Waltzers, Twister, Carousel and dodgems.

On-site food stalls include the Carousel Candy, as well as stall selling ice cream, burgers and hot dogs.

Adults can head to the Pleasure Beach Inn which serves beer and wine.

If you can't wait for the park to open, there is enough in Great Yarmouth to do to keep you busy.

The seaside town has featured in the new Wonka film, with the historic Lydia Eve boat used to film scenes with Timothee Chalamet.

It's cheap to stay in town too, with both Premier Inn and Travelodge hotels.

Or you can stay at one of the two nearby Haven holiday parks.
