Sneaky flight trick for plane fares as low as £40 to LA – but you have to act fast
EVERYONE dreams of finding flights for much cheaper than they would be expecting to pay.
Fortunately for some passengers, this does happen from time to time, but travellers have to be quick to get them booked.
Error fares are one of the best ways to save money on flights, so long as you're a bit more flexible about where you want to go on holiday.
The fares are found at an unusually low price, often due to airline or travel agency pricing mistakes, or software and algorithm malfunctions.
Either way, there are plenty of examples of people finding flights much cheaper than they should have been because of an error when booking their trips.
The good news is that fortunate passengers often have their flights honoured by the airlines, with around 70 per cent of them upheld, even after they've corrected the pricing problems.

Carriers and agents will often move quickly to do this, so anyone who stumbles across the error fares will need to move fast to secure their bargain.
For anyone who wants to find these errors, there are websites dedicated to discovering the mistakes as soon as they happen, so as many people as possible can make the most of them.
One of those is Secret Flying, where there's a section specifically dedicated to uncovering the very cheap deals.
Tarik Allag, the website's founder, said that the website's best deals have been found on that part of their site.

He told : "These fares are usually quickly corrected but for anyone who manages to make good on the mistake, the original price is often honoured by the airline or travel agency.
"We occasionally find these types of fares on Secret Flying and have .
"They account for some of our all-time best deals, including Europe to Brazil for €78 (£67), and Toronto to Sicily for C$73 (£43)."
have also shared error fares when they've found them and they have uncovered some similarly cheap deals.
They include a £40 flight from London to Los Angeles, London to Havana return for £201 and Manchester/Scotland to Hawaii for £258 return.
They claim that the risks are fairly minimal too, although they advise not booking other travel plans, such as hotels and tours, until you have full confirmation that you will be permitted to fly.
That way if your ticket is cancelled by the airline, which does sometimes happen, you won't have paid for accommodation that you can't then stay at.
Jack's Flight Club said that these cancellations can only be made with a full refund, meaning "the risks are very minimal when it comes to booking".
