The Paddington-themed bus tour that visits all of London’s attractions – with afternoon tea and cakes onboard

ONE of the most loved fictional characters in British children's literature has come to life in the form of a bus tour in London.

Fans of the iconic kids cartoon and book, Paddington Bear, can now go with friends, family or loved ones on the .

And the best bit? Those taking part will eat and drink atop a double-decker Routemaster bus.

Run by one of the West End’s best-known afternoon tea spots, , the sightseeing tour operates weekly from Wednesdays to Sundays.

On the bus will be a quintessentially British and Paddington-themed afternoon tea menu, including items such as marmalade sandwiches and cupcakes.

Each table on the bus is fitted with a screen that plays a Paddington-guided animation, offering insights into London’s landmarks from the perspectives of Paddington himself alongside the Brown family housekeeper, Mrs Bird.

The route will cover many of the famous London’s landmarks, including Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Hyde Park.

And there’ll also be the chance to see Nelson’s Column, Downing Street and St. Paul's Cathedral during the whistle-stop tour of the capital. 

During the Christmas period leading up until early January, however, tours taking place at 5:30pm will also include festive views of the Regent Street Christmas Lights. 

Otherwise you can choose from 1:45pm tours or 5:30pm tours.

Tour-goers will have various Paddington Afternoon Tea menus to choose from depending on their preferences, including traditional, vegan, vegetarian, halal and gluten-free options. 

People have raved about the tour, with one saying: "It was absolutely adorable and so much fun."

Another said they "smiled the whole way through" and that the food was "out of this world".

One mum said: "My kids LOVED the Paddington Bear Tea. They said it was the best ever."

The Paddington Afternoon Tea Bus Tour can be booked online now via the .

Tickets start from £35 for kids and £45 for adults.

However, it’s only recommended for children aged five years and over due to its duration and the lack of toilet facilities on the bus.
