A HOLIDAY park in England has been given a prestige awarded - being named the best in the country.

Camping website camping.co.uk have revealed the best across the UK for 2023.

Highlands End Holiday Park, in Dorset, was named the best holiday park by the website.

The park is found right on the edge of the cliffs, with views over 100 miles of the Jurassic Coast.

The nearby Eype Beach is just a 10 minute walk from the campsite, with huge stretches' of golden sand.

Families can choose from one of the 65 basic tent pitches to glamping pods and deluxe caravans.

While camping is only runs from May to September, the glamping pods run slightly longer, from March to October.

And the resort has enough to do in both good and bad weather.

There is a leisure club with indoor swimming pool and soft play area and nine-hole golf course.

There are even steam rooms and saunas, along with an outdoor tennis court.

A bar, restaurant and bakery can be found at the on-site Cowshed, as well as a beer garden and shop.

Dogs are welcome too - with dog-friendly accommodation, dog showers and exercising fields and even a dog-friendly beach.

Previous guests have raved abut it, with thousands giving it five stars.

One said: "This was simply the BEST campsite I have ever stayed on.

"It was the cleanest, best location, nicest facilities, beautiful pool, sauna and spa and even the best on site shop."

Another wrote: "Beautiful holiday park where we stayed in our motorhome.

"The whole park is absolutely immaculate down to the last blade of grass."

A third simply said: "Best place I have ever camped at."

Others praised the "amazing views" and another said it was a "hidden gem".

Prices start from £33 a night for two adults.

Another family-run holiday park right next to the beach was named one of the best campsites in the UK.
