Long stay beach holidays that are cheaper than staying home this January

According to a of the UK parliament, "typical bills under the January to March 2024 price cap will be almost 60 per cent higher than in winter 2022".

Meanwhile, a survey from the (ONS) revealed that "52 per cent of adults in Great Britain reported an increase in their cost of living".

So, those looking for a January escape to a sunnier destination should watch out for these deals.

1. Malta

Halfway between Sicily and the coast of Tunisia, you can find Malta.

With typical high temperatures in the mid-20C, the island country is fortunate to have a sunny environment all year round.

2. Benidorm, Spain

3. Cyprus

4. The Algarve, Portugal 

The Algarve should be at the top of your list thanks to the miles of golden sandy beaches and warm temperatures.

5. Tunisia

In January, Tunisia offers a budget-friendly escape with mild temperatures, with highs of 17C.

By avoiding the peak season, Brits can enjoy historical landmarks and markets without the summertime chaos.
